New Place

I'm currently in the midst of moving to England and trying to get a new life sorted out. I don't know how long it will take me to get started updating here again, though hopefully not more than a few weeks. If you follow my facebook, I'll post there when I start up again. If you don't, well, check back in a month?

I'm currently getting ready to move to a new country, and I've been spending an inordinate amount of time weeping over stacks of paperwork. I should have something to put up here next week, assuming the embassy trip goes well in a couple days.

All the smoke blew right into the school, too.

They power walk right up to the top and then start doing squats.

I just got new glasses and you have no idea how excited I am.

He spent about ten mintues with his face pressed into my spine. No one seemed to find it terribly weird.

They do leave me alone more since I started being really rude.

They're not paranoid enough, is my point.

Really, I answer to anything that ends in a 'ra' sound.

Update: I got a mostly comprehensible explanation for this a couple weeks later. Apparently, my piano teacher and kick boxing teacher had been texting each other about me, and she bet him the price of a dinner that my name was Sara. While this does explain why she was so upset on learning my real name, it raises a number of new questions. Such as how many of my Korean friends have lengthy conversations about me when they're supposed to be teaching.

The really sad thing is that I usually like okera. They did something terrible to it.

I used to think all kinds of things were disgusting, before Peace Corps.

Mostly it's the battery that suffered.

I love my students dearly--

--and you can tell because I haven't run screaming out of the country, yet.

This semester is murdering me dead. I should have a proper update next Sunday, but right now I'm not doing anything but hiding under my blankets and pretending I don't have to go into school tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure Corwin's the one who kicked me in the face.

I liked that song the first hundred times I heard it.

Not the best conversation starter.

I want to say that there are lots of amazing, inspiring males in Mali who I was delighted to know and work with. But the young and stupid ones tended to react to me like this, especially waaay out in the bush.

I kinda admire their ability to keep using the word 'secret' with such straight faces.

When your passanger tells you to stop, you should really stop. People get upset, otherwise.

I'm travelling for a bit. I should have something new up here on the second of March.

My very reasonable explanation for the ointment is in the previous post.

It did work really well, for all my whining.

I should probably be a lot more worried about this than I am.

The worst of the radiation hasn't hit Korea yet, that I'm aware of, as the spill is on the far side of Japan, so the islands sheltered us a little. Though the last map I saw of the whole mess was rather old, so it could well be irradiating the beaches as we speak. In any case, the fish should not be trusted.

On vacation--

--and off to Seoul to study Korean for a couple of weeks. I'm taking my watercolor paints along, and will probably stick a couple of sketches of the city up in a few days if that sounds terribly interesting to you. I should have a proper comic up on the 26th.

EDIT: Never mind--between the snow and the Chinese Pollution Death Cloud I'm not going and drawing near as much as I 'd thought.

They're good movies. I just can't watch them with a straight face.
